Richard currently works as Curator of the History of Navigation at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London. The post involves researching, interpreting and developing the museum's internationally important collections. In total, he has worked in the museum sector for seventeen years. This has included a range of curatorial and interpretation roles at the Whipple Museum of the History of Science in Cambridge, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Ragged School Museum, a small community history museum in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, the British Museum and English Heritage.
