I am currently employed in the School as Programme Manager (part-time). I am involved in Modules 2 and 3 of the campus-based courses, and have helped to organise the Professional Development Programme 2012/13.
Before this I worked as Research Associate within the School, updating and editing the distance learning Study Guides.
I completed my AHRB/C-funded PhD in the School of Museum Studies in 2009 and graduated in 2010. I have a background in Asian Art History and was formerly Curatorial Assistant at the Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art (2000—1).
My doctoral research looked at the collection, interpretation and display of the visual culture of the Chinese Cultural Revolution in British museums. I am working on a book proposal based on this research, and developing a postdoctoral project in a related area. In addition to my current role, I am an Honorary Visiting Fellow in the School of Museum Studies. Prior to this, I worked as a freelance researcher and curator. Since 2011, I have been China Editor of the online journal 'Modern Art Asia'.
