Selection Procedure (A100)
How we score applications for the A100 Course
There are two stages:
- UCAS written application
- Interview.
Supplementary information should not be provided unless requested.
The Written Application:
The UCAS form should include a clear and concise personal statement outlining your ambitions and experiences. Medical work experience is not essential but you should be able to demonstrate that you have undertaken some kind of work where you are able to communicate with the public.
The Interview:
Should you be invited for an interview at the Leicester Medical School, they will be taking place during the following weeks:
Week Commencing: 10 December 2012
Week Commencing: 28 January 2013
Week Commencing: 25 February 2013
On the day of the interview you will have an opportunity to tour the Leicester Campus with a current student who will tell you about the social life, accommodation, etc.
After the interview the selectors will examine the UCAS forms and interview reports. On the basis of a thorough consideration of these, one of three decisions will be made:
- Offer (which will be conditional if you have not yet taken your examinations)
- Hold (the possibility of an offer still remains)
- Reject
