Outstanding Decisions and Feedback Requests

Outstanding decisions for the A100/A101 course will now be processed after the Easter break. We appreciate your patience. Please respond promptly to any requests for further information, so that we can process your application efficiently.
Feedback requests will also be dealt with following the Easter period.
Offer Holders Please note that as we provide tours with a current medical student on the day of the MMIs, we do not hold Offer Visit Days.
Decisions Post MMI

We have now completed our final week of MMIs and will be making further offers shortly.
We will also be informing those who have been unsuccessful following their MMI in due course.
Please note that we will not be replying to feedback requests until the decisions process is over.
During this busy period, we would appreciate your co-operation in not contacting the Medical School about the progress of your application.
Offers post MMI

We have completed our second week of MMIs and will be making a small number of offers in due course.
Please note that we are still emailing out invitations to attend interview and will also inform, in due course, those who have been unsuccessful with their applications.
Decisions on Applications
We have now commenced emailing out decisions to those who were interviewed in December 2012. This will be an ongoing process and some applicants may not receive a decision until March 2013.
Please be aware that we are also continuing to email out invitations to attend interview and will be informing those who have been unsuccessful with their applications in due course.
We will not be replying to feedback requests until the decisions process is over in March 2013.
Invitation for Interview
We have now commenced emailing out invitations to attend an interview at the University of Leicester. This will be an ongoing process until the end of February 2013. Please do not contact us as this delays our process.
Applicants should check their emails regularly and *respond promptly to any invitation they receive.
*Please note that as soon as you email your confirmation of MMI attendance, this will automatically secure your place for that date. We are not issuing acknowledgements.

Threshold for Invitation to Interview
The final threshold for invitation to interview will not be known until all applications have been processed which may take until the end of January 2013. Applicants will be ranked on the basis of our ‘A100/A101 Selection Procedure for 2013’. From this information, the top ranking 750 Home/EU (A100), 100 International (A100) and 130 A101 applicants will be invited to attend an MMI.
During this busy period, we would appreciate your co-operation in not contacting the Medical School regarding thresholds as this delays our processes.

Student Bursaries

Interviews
The format of the interviews is multiple mini-interviews (MMI). The format will include an assessment of motivation, commitment, written communication, verbal communication and problem solving.
Should you be invited for an interview at the Leicester Medical School, they will be taking place during the following weeks:
Week Commencing: 10 December 2012
Week Commencing: 28 January 2013 *
Week Commencing: 25 February 2013
* It is expected that graduates applying to the A101 course would be invited for interview during this week.
Please Note:
We will be unable to reschedule interview dates as these will be multiple mini-interviews.
If you are invited to a morning interview, you would need to arrive by 8.45 am.
If you are invited to an afternoon interview, you would need to arrive by 1.00 pm.
The process of sending out invitations for interview will commence in early December. Applicants are encouraged to check their emails regularly and respond promptly to any invitation they receive.

UCAS Forms
We will then assess personal qualities by reviewing the personal statement and reference.
If any applicant has mitigating personal, domestic, social or educational circumstances they should send this information to the Medical School immediately after submission of their UCAS form.Applications will be ranked and we anticipate that approximately 750 (Home/EU) applicants will be invited for interview.
Interviews
We will also be changing our interview process with the introduction of multiple mini-interviews (MMI). The exact format is under discussion but it is likely that the MMI will include an assessment of motivation, commitment, written communication, verbal communication and problem solving.
UCAS Extra AND Clearing
The Medical School will not be entering Clearing or using Extra
