Research Summary
Dr Storchi’s research interests include Italian and European Modernism and Avant-Garde; early 20th century art and literary magazines; inter-war literature, visual arts, architecture and design; the relationship between classicism and modernity; the relationship between aesthetics and politics, with particular reference to the fascist regime. She has also published on contemporary Italian fiction and has developed an interest in the cultural construction of space. She has collaborated in the AHRC-sponsored project The Cult of the Duce. Mussolini and the Italians, 1918-2005 and has co-curated the project-related exhibition Against Mussolini. Art and the Fall of a Dictator (London, 22 September-19 december 2010).
Research Student Supervision
Dr Storchi is supervising Alessandro Baù on the publishing industry under Fascism.
