Research Summary

Dr Rocheron conducted sociological research in Britain at the Centre for Mass Communication Research (University of Leicester) before her appointment to the School of Modern Languages . As a sociologist, her past publications covered gender and feminism in education, and health issues related to minority ethnic groups in Britain.

Current research themes include French television culture, Algerian immigration, multiculturalism in France and Britain and contemporary French women's writing. She is co-editing with Christopher Rolfe a book titled 'Shifting Frontiers of France and Francophonie' (Peter Lang, forthcoming).
