Portuguese

Portuguese is the native language of over 200 million people, not only in Portugal itself but also in Brazil and former Portuguese colonies in Africa and the Far East.

This year we are offering Portuguese at the following levels:

Beginners

Lisbon

Course Level

This is for learners with little or no prior knowledge of Portuguese.  You will learn basic skills to enable you to make yourself understood and to find out information in everyday situations.

Course Content

The following topics will be covered: expressing a range of greetings; describing oneself and exchanging personal details, describing one’s family and friends, reading timetables, making plans, talking about hobbies, likes and dislikes, directions, describing own home, town/city, ordering in a bar/restaurant, going out, meeting friends, shopping.

Spanish Exams

The University of Leicester is now an official examination centre for the Instituto Cervantes.   DELE exams, the internationally recognised Spanish qualification of the Institute, can be taken here on 25th May 2012. 
All levels from A1 to C2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages are offered and registration is available from 27th February to 20th April 2012
