Modern Languages at Leicester rated 10th in the Country

In its annual survey of UK universities the Guardian newspaper's University Guide 2014 has rated Modern Languages at the University of Leicester as 10th in the country. The survey examined all three language areas offered at Leicester (French, Italian and Spanish studies) and encompasses such diverse factors as staff: student ratios, student satisfaction and graduate employability. A very gratifying 87% of our students said that they were satisfied with the teaching offered in the School, and 73% of our graduates were reported as having a job within six months of graduating.

Tutor and student

This excellent news is yet another example of how the degree programmes within the School of Modern Languages offer our students an outstanding learning experience. The result follows other successes in recent years including the University of Leicester being the only university to have won Times Higher Awards in seven consecutive years and nomination as Times Higher University of the Year in 2008/09.

NUS Awards 2013  The University of Leicester Students' Union was named NUS Student's Union of the Year 2013.

Modern Languages 3rd

 Bronze 3rd

Modern Languages at Leicester is now ranked 3rd nationally – just behind Cambridge and Oxford, in the latest Guardian University League Table (2016).

This is a fantastic achievement for the School and a reflection of the hard work done over the past few years by all teaching staff and professional services colleagues to ensure students get excellent tuition and an outstanding experience in the School.

The score is an improvement on the impressive result achieved in the Guardian last year when Modern Languages at Leicester was ranked 6th nationally. In recent years Modern Languages at UoL has consistently been placed in the top ten.
