Media and Communication at Leicester
The Department of Media and Communication at the University of Leicester is one of the UK’s leading centres for research and teaching in media, communication and culture. Celebrating its 50-year anniversary in 2016, the department is one of the first centres of its kind and among the largest media departments in the country today.
In July 2016 the Department of Media and Communication will host the annual conference of the International Association of Media and Communication Research. Over 1,200 delegates from across the world are expected to attend this prestigious event.
Following the conclusion of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, the department placed 15th overall for media research in the country, with 82% of research articles and books being rated as “world leading” or “internationally excellent”. The department is also ranked 13th in the Complete University guide with an overall score of 95.1%.
