What is the Media and Communications study about?

The media – newspapers, television, radio, advertising, magazines, film, the internet – are now so much part of our lives that we take them for granted. What part do media and cultural forms play in our lives? How do they influence the way we think and act? What are the limits to mass media influence? These questions have important implications for many areas of social life. The study of Media and Communications is an interdisciplinary field that explores the history, content and effects of the mass media on all aspects of society. The BSc in Communications, Media & Society will enable you to study the development of media industries and understand their impact on modern society through the processes of production and consumption of media content.
