Career Experience
I have over fifteen years’ experience in the design and delivery of distance education at postgraduate level, including the commissioning and editing of distance learning materials as well as the support and tutoring of distance learning students.
I came to the department to take an MA in Mass Communications in 1991, having spent the previous five years working in the telecommunications sector at British Telecom. After graduating (with Distinction) in 1992, I taught part-time on the department’s undergraduate degree until 1994 when I joined the department full-time as part of a small team responsible for the development and delivery of the department’s distance learning MA programmes, the first of which began in 1995. My main responsibilities continue to lie in the area of distance learning.
