Simon Cottle is Professor of Media and Communications and Deputy Head, School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies at Cardiff University. He also holds Honorary Professorships at the Universities of Tasmania and Melbourne and is a Visiting Faculty Fellow at Yale University.
Simon has published numerous articles and books including, most recently: Transnational Protests and the Media (edited with Libby Lester, Peter Lang Publishing 2011), Global Crisis Reporting: Journalism in the Global Age (Open University Press 2009) and Mediatized Conflict: New Developments in Media and Conflict Studies (Open University Press, 2006). He is currently writing Disasters and the Media with colleagues (Peter Lang, forthcoming 2011) and is the General Editor for the Global Crises and the Media Series, also published by Peter Lang. He is interested in examining the role of media and communications in conflicts including global crises and the changing nature of journalism and its production.
