Resources for current distance learning students

Two dl studentsWelcome to our Web-based resource area for registered students. There is a wide range of useful material here and we'll be adding to this as more resources become available. Let us know if you think there's anything missing and we'll try and respond quickly with new material.

Some of the material is in pdf format. If you do not have a pdf reader on your computer click here to download Abobe Reader.

We also understand the value of being able to communicate with other distance learning students. Please visit our Keeping in touch with other students section for more details.

E-mail us at mediacom-dl@le.ac.uk with requests and/or comments.

What is distance learning?

Whereas traditional campus-based study requires students to live in, or travel to, Leicester, students on distance learning (DL) courses study at home from anywhere in the world. Your learning materials are sent to you through the post and accessed online.

Distance learning with the Department of Media and Communication means studying in your own time and at your own pace, so you can combine achieving a qualification with work or family commitments. At the end of the course you will have a fully recognised degree, just the same as those awarded to students on campus.
