Employer Sponsorship

Some organisations will sponsor their employees on courses that fit in with their business needs. We would advise that students contact their employers to enquire about possible funding opportunities.

Advice on scholarships and other useful information can also be obtained from the University’s International Office.

Paying Your Fees

Course fees must be paid promptly on receipt of an invoice from the University, or the local agent, by the dates specified. Students who do not keep up their fee payments will not be eligible to receive further course materials nor to sit for the examination, and may be required to re-register for the course if they wish to continue their studies.

  • All fees are payable in sterling.
  • All fees are made payable to the 'University of Leicester'.
  • Fees for the second year will always in line with the intake that the student registers for the second year with.

Methods of Payment

What is distance learning?

Whereas traditional campus-based study requires students to live in, or travel to, Leicester, students on distance learning (DL) courses study at home from anywhere in the world. Your learning materials are sent to you through the post and accessed online.

Distance learning with the Department of Media and Communication means studying in your own time and at your own pace, so you can combine achieving a qualification with work or family commitments. At the end of the course you will have a fully recognised degree, just the same as those awarded to students on campus.
