Course fees are subject to revision on an annual basis. Future intakes may be charged at a higher rate. Payment includes all tuition costs, course modules, course readers, library support, audio-visual materials and administration. Course materials are distributed at intervals throughout the year. The fee does not include travel costs, nor any subsistence or accommodation costs that students incur in attendance at Leicester or other designated centres for the purposes of the annual examination. Examination centres will be organised in each of the countries from which students are recruited.

Fees must be paid promptly in accordance with the dates advised by the agent in agreement with the University. Students who do not keep up their fee payments will not be eligible to receive further course materials nor to sit for the course examinations, and they may be required to re-register for the course if they wish to continue their studies.

  • All fees are made payable to the 'University of Leicester'
  • Fees for the second year will always in line with the intake that the student registers for the second year with.
  • Methods of payment: online, cheque, bankers draft, credit card or bank transfer (payer is responsible for bank charges)

What is distance learning?

Whereas traditional campus-based study requires students to live in, or travel to, Leicester, students on distance learning (DL) courses study at home from anywhere in the world. Your learning materials are sent to you through the post and accessed online.

Distance learning with the Department of Media and Communication means studying in your own time and at your own pace, so you can combine achieving a qualification with work or family commitments. At the end of the course you will have a fully recognised degree, just the same as those awarded to students on campus.
