Regional LMS seminars
The Pure Mathematics group plays an active role in various schemes funded by the London Mathematical Society with the aim of encouraging collaborative research between nearby UK universities. Members of the group are co-organisers of the collaborative seminars on Representations of Algebra (BLOC - Bristol Leicester Oxford Colloquium) and Topology (TTT - Transpennine Topology Triangle), and regularly support ARTIN (Algebras and Representation Theory In the North).
Each group meets at least 4 times per year for days of seminars and informal research discussions. These meetings cycle between the principal sites of each group. All are welcome.
Working Seminars
The pure maths group regularly runs working seminars or advanced lecture courses. Details of the current study groups may be found here.
Leicester is host to a variety of individual visitors and the group currently enjoys funding for specific projects, including grants from EPSRC, the Leverhulme Trust and the London Mathematical Society. The Pure Mathematics group received grade 5 in the 2001 RAE.
