Wednesday September 7th 2011: Free afternoon/Excursion to Burghley House and the market town of Stamford.
The trip to 16th Century Burghley House, a family home for more than 450 years, includes access to both the house and vast gardens. The house is a magnificent example of 16th century architecture and is home to a large collection of art, ceramics, furniture and textiles acquired by the family over the years. The gardens and parkland were designed in the 18th Century by ‘Capability’ Brown. The visit will give you access to the Garden of Surprises and the Sculpture Garden, hosting the collection of sculptures by Julian Wild and his Incomplete Systems exhibition in 2011. Burghley House is a mile outside of the historic market town of Stamford, approximately 35 miles from Leicester.
Thursday September 8th 2011: Conference Dinner.
