Studentships

The Department has available a number of EPSRC studentships for students from the United Kingdom (UK) or the European Union (EU), funded through the Department's EPSRC-based Doctoral Training Account (DTA). The studentships provide full funding (maximum 3.5 years) for UK and EU PhD students, who have been residents in the UK for 3 years prior to application, and fees-only funding for other EU students. These studentships are awarded on a competitive basis and application must be made through the Department, preferably by 30th March for students wishing to start the following October.

There are other sources of funding for all or part of the study costs for home and overseas students. Many of these are quite competitive.
