MSc in Financial Mathematicsfinancial sm and Computation

The MSc in Computational Financial Mathematics is designed to provide a mature understanding of financial mathematics and computational techniques for it.

The MSc in Financial Mathematics is a prestigious qualification. The quantitative finance area is widely recognized as a rapidly expanding market for mathematical and scientific skills. This course recruits graduates with degrees in a range of associated disciplines, in particular from Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Physics, and Engineering.

MSc in Mathematical Modellingbio m sm in Biology

The MSc in Mathematical Modelling in Biology aims to provide a comprehensive perspective of existing modelling approaches and contemporary methods of data analysis used in biology and ecology.

The focus will be on design, analysis and implementation of mathematical models for problems arising in life sciences, with special emphasis on ecological applications, theoretical neuroscience and brain research.

The full-time MSc in Actuarial Sciences builds on the success of our part-time distance learning PgDip/MSc in Actuarial Science. We are pleased to offer a campus-based one year programme covering the first core technical modules (CT1-8) of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries syllabus which has received full accreditation.

If full time is not an option because of your work or personal commitments then our part-time distance learning course will suit you. The distance learning course is the only distance learning course accredited by the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries. By studying this course you will gain the first accredited qualification in the step towards becoming a fully accredited Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries.

This one year programme aims to prepare students for a Mathematics MSc degree here at Leicester. The course will provide a comprehensive grounding in Mathematics to enable non-mathematics graduates to succeed in a mathematics masters degree.

 

MRes MathematicsMRes Mathematics

This one year pure Mathematics programme aims to prepare students for research study in Mathematics. The course consists of a 60 credit taught element in one semester followed by a 120 credit individual research

project. The course will provide excellent experience of a detailed supervised research project which could lead to publication in mathematical journals.   

MSc Applied Computation and Numerical Modelling

The programme will provide students with practical skills in computation and technical knowledge in numerical modelling to a level suitable for doctoral study or direct entry into industry. This is an interdisciplinary physical science programme which draws on cutting edge expertise from across the College of Science Engineering.

MSc Data Analysis for Business Intelligence

The MSc Data Analysis for Business Intelligence course aims to provide a route for students in their transition from undergraduate study to employment in data-led sectors. It provides the opportunity to gain practical experience in databases (and achieve two professionally accredited certificates) and a rigorous understanding of applied statistics, data mining, operational research and related areas.
