House Presidents and social networks for students

The aim of the Peer Support system is for the first year students to pool their knowledge in order to gain a richer understanding of a particular idea. The more experienced student uses their experience to give the first year student strategies by which they may understand a particular idea. - Professor Levesley

The Peer Support (PS) system, based on Supplemental Instruction a scheme originating with UMKC, was developed by Professor Jeremy Levesley. In this system more experienced students facilitate groups of first year students.

House Presidents are chosen every year to lead the four Houses. The House System is a collection of peer support groups for our students. The four Houses are Euler, Gauss, Noether, and Newton. Students can also join S.U.M.S. the Students' Union Mathematics Society. Postgraduate students hold regular meetings and events.
