My area of research in geometry and visualisation allows to demonstrate mathematical research to non-experts through physical experiments and visualisation. I have been actively engaged in various outreach events, ranging from Master classes to a presentation at the London Student Conference. For UCAS days I have used the Visual Intelligence Lab to show how recent mathematical research can be applied to real-world problems.

2017 I organised the departmental event for the IWD at the University of Leicester.

The department was hosting the exhibition
“Women of Mathematics throughout Europe: a gallery of portraits”
8 March -15 March, David Wilson Library Reading Room
There was a launch event in form of a lunch  on Wednesday, 8th March, 12pm, in the David Wilson Library Reading Room, followed by a series of talks in the afternoon by Women of Mathematics at Leicester:
We celebrated the different facets of mathematical work done by women in mathematics at the University of Leicester with four talks for general audience. The talks showcased the wide range of mathematical work in the department spanning topics from pure mathematics to mathematical modelling and actuarial science.
Women in Mathematics at Leicester: 8 March 2017, 3-5pm, Belvoir Park Lounge, Charles Wilson Building

3.00-3.30pm Dr Aihua Zhang: Analysis on Brexit voting pattern
3,30-4.00pm Dr Katrin Leschke: Soap films, quaternions and geometry
4.00-4.30pm Mrs Leena Sodha: Actuarial Science: Women working in male dominated mathematical professions
4.30-5.00pm Dr Sibylle Schroll: Dessins d’enfants and representations theory
5.00-5.30pm Poster session

At 5:30 we concluded the day back in the Library Reading Room with a wine reception.

I was a convenor at a very exiting week-long summer school for gifted high school students and explored with my group of students the use of quaternions in mathematics and computer science.
