Mathematics at Leicester
The Department of Mathematics provides a welcoming academic environment for undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are one of the most active mathematics research departments in the UK and our strengths lie within a number of research directions. Within this rich research setting are many postgraduate research opportunities, and our PhD environment is highly successful at providing unrivalled preparation for careers in academia, government and the finance and software industries.

We offer a number of undergraduate three and four year programmes in Mathematics, Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics.
We undertake research in a range of varied topics including computational modelling, algebra, topology, financial mathematics.
The 2016 Guardian University Guide ranked Mathematics at the University of Leicester as 14th in the UK.
