How will I be taught?
Teaching is via seminars and lectures. You will also be expected to spend at least 10 hours per week studying each module during your own time.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a mixture of continuous assessment and examination.
What support is available to me?
You will be assigned a personal tutor who has a pastoral role and can offer support and advice. The Student Learning Centre provides opportunities for the development of higher level learning skills and provides study guidance.
The University’s Health Centre, Counselling Service, AccessAbility Centre and other support services are available to all postgraduate students. International students also benefit from support from the International Office.
What facilities will I have access to?
You will have access to the University’s David Wilson Library which contains over one million books and publications, alongside dedicated study space for postgraduate students.
The University has over 1,400 computers in designated computer areas and departmental computer rooms. Access to the dedicated PC Zone in the Library is reserved for staff and postgraduate students and access is available 24 hours and weekends to some computers.
Will I be able to live in University accommodation?
The University offers a wide range of self-catered rooms close to the University’s campus in properties designated for senior students. The Students’ Union’s Private Sector Accommodation Office can help you to find good quality,
reasonably private priced housing.
