Brief Biography

Vivian is a Ph.D. student at the university of Leicester, School of Management. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Sociology and later worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
Vivian has worked on various research projects related to community engagement initiatives, transnational masculinities, debt - specifically its impact on young people and domestic homicides.

Research Interests

Her proposed research will critically rethink graduate experiences of employability by challenging the dominant perspective of policy makers and employers by focusing on subjective experiences. She will be drawing on ethnographic and visual research methodologies to investigate the ways in which young people ‘experience’ the imperative to be ‘employable’ and to shed light on the socio-economic dimensions of self-responsibilisation in the context of current labour market policies. The focus of her Ph.D. is on the emotional and affective dimensions of graduate experiences of employability as a process that is influencing our lives.
