Professor Jo Brewis and Dr Richard Godfrey
Rodney started his PhD degree at the University of Leicester in October 2012. He previously completed his MA in Leading Innovation and Change at York St John University’s Business School (2010-2012). His undergraduate work was in psychology.
Rodney is particularly interested in how the body informs performance in the moment, with a particular focus on leadership as a performance.
His research investigates observable leadership behaviours that are accepted as leading to effective leadership practice, and how one enacts these behaviours through an expansion of the concept of embodied state. In doing so, his research emphasises the essence of effective leadership behaviours and how they arise through enaction, which involves the integration of felt embodied experiences with active embodied expression to achieve effective embodied leadership performance.
