Biography

Meryem Duygun Fethi BSc (Hons) MA PhD. Meryem completed her postgraduate degrees as an ODA and Commonwealth scholar at the University of Leicester. She has been researching and teaching at the School of Management since 1996. Meryem's major teaching and research fields are banking and finance, performance measurement and applied economics. She is currently supervising seven PhD students in these areas. Meryem is the founding president of the IFABS (International Finance and Banking Society), which was established in 2009.  She is also the founding Coordinator of the ULSM Efficiency and Productivity Research Unit, and UKEPAN (UK Efficiency and Productivity Analysis Network). Since 2004, she has also been coordinating the EURO Working Group on Efficiency and Productivity Analysis. Meryem serves as an editorial board member of a number of international journals and she is a scientific committee member at various conferences. She is currently guest co-editing three special issues in the following journals: Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Productivity Analysis, and International Journal of Banking, Accounting and Finance. Meryem is currently organising an international research symposium on banking and finance.

Meryem's major research fields are banking and finance, performance management and applied economics.
