Biography

Christophe holds a PhD in Financial Economics (University of Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne) and he joined the School of Management at the University of Leicester as Lecturer in Finance in August 2011. His initial background is MSc in Business Engineering from University of Liege. After graduating, he was awarded an MA in Economics from the University of Paris I. He also holds a MA in Philosophy of Sciences from the Catholic University of Louvain as well as a MSc in Risk Management and a BSc in Computer Sciences. Between 2009 and 2011, Christophe had a postdoctoral fellowship in Canada (University of Quebec at Montreal).

He regularly publishes papers in journals in which he also has editorial and referee activities. His research interest focus on financial economics and more precisely behavioral finance and econophysics (statistical physics applied to finance). He also tries to use his philosophical background in order to propose some epistemological reflections about financial economics. For several years, Christophe has been a research consultant for private companies, such as JPMorgan and Suez Gaz de France.

In September 2011, Christophe Schinckus also joined the London School of Economics as visiting scholar (Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science).
