New perspectives on anarchism and management

Management and anarchy seem to have one thing in common - many people loathe them. So is there something to be gained from critically reviewing their antagonistic relation?

The Centre for Philosophy and Political Economy at the School of Management is holding a joint book launch and discussion on Tuesday 29 October 2013 focusing on two new books: Anarchists in the Boardroom written by Liam Barrington-Bush and Protest Camps co-authored by Fabian Frenzel, Lecturer in the Political Economy of Organisation at the School.

In the workshop Liam and Fabian will present ideas and perspectives on management and anarchy from different yet related perspectives. The discussion will be chaired by Thomas Swann and Konstantin Stoborod, editors of the forthcoming ephemera: theory and politics in organization special issue, 'Management, Business, Anarchism', which aims to take up the issues around anarchist organisation and critical management theory examined in Liam's and Fabian's books.

The event at the University of Leicester is free of charge but places are limited and must be booked in advance by emailing either Thomas on trs6@le.ac.uk or Konstantin on ks302@le.ac.uk
