Student Support and Development Service

The University of Leicester's award winning Student Support and Development Service is available to all part-time students, and includes student counselling, information on personal and career development, advice on health and well-being and practical matters such as student welfare and financial advice.

The Library

All Certificate, Diploma, Foundation Degree, Undergraduate, Postgraduate
students will be issued with a student membership/library card which carries
borrowing rights at the David Wilson (university) Library and access to its print and electronic resources. For further information, visit the Library Website 

The Library provides a number of services solely for students registered on distance learning courses and part-time research students. Find out more information.

Financial Support

All adult learners are encouraged to enquire about financing their studies before the start of their course.

Personal Tutors

You will have a Personal Tutor who will provide you with both academic and pastoral support throughout your studies.

Students’ Union

All students are entitled to be members of the University’s Students’
Union, which hosts a diverse range of student campaigns, extra curricular activities and social events ranging from Leicester Tigers
tickets to independent film screenings. As a student, you will have the option to purchase a NUS card, This entitles you to a variety of offers and discounts in shops and entertainment venues. You can apply for a NUS Card online at a cost of £10 per year (2010/11).

Course Fees and Funding

No upfront fees - all eligible part-time students can now get a government-backed tuition fee loan, which is only repayable if you are earning more than £21,000 per annum. More information on tuition fee loans
