Research

Research Interests

The Insitute of Lifelong Learning has four main research specialisms. Research degrees (postgraduate taught and MPhil/PhD) are available in these areas. Consultancy work may be available - please contact relevant staff members for more information.

The four key research areas are:

- Civil Safety and Security

- Counselling and Psychotherapy

- Learning and Ageing

- Popular Culture and Religion/Spiritual Development

Research Groups

Leicester Learning and Ageing Group (LLAG)

The Insitute of Lifelong Learning is also home to LLAG; a specialist research group actively involved with applied research in the field of later-life learning, older learners and the benefits of learning for an ageing population.

University of Leicester Counselling and Psychotherapy Research Clinic (ULCPRC)

Counselling and psychotherapy services are offered to staff, students and members of the public by ULCPRC. Research may also be conducted by therapists with the full consent of clients.
