The Civil Safety and Security Unit (CSSU)

The CSSU has a well-established international reputation for its work. The Unit offers distance learning MSc courses in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management, provides PhD supervision and offers consultancy services to government and industry.

Staff research interests include contingency planning, international security, public unrest, policing, local and central government policies, aviation safety and security, and business continuity management.

The Unit adopts a flexible approach to part-time distance learning with excellent support for students.

A great strength of the Leicester approach; suited to the individual and their circumstances the tutorial team want to help you "get there". This in full light of the knowledge that each student, regardless of age, background or individual discipline has much to give and in turn share with the risk, crisis and disaster management sector"
Bill Gough. Graduate MSc Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management, June 2008
