Library

The Vaughan College library offers excellent facilities for quiet study and access to many new course related titles. Membership is available to all registered Lifelong Learning students and staff. New Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students will receive their library cards direct from the Academic Registry at the start of the Autumn Term. Diploma and Certificate students need to submit a photograph to the College Librarian as soon as possible after the start of their course in order to have their library card issued. Students in these categories, who have membership of Vaughan library, also enjoy borrowing rights at all of the University's site libraries.

The majority of books can be borrowed for one month and renewed after that period, in person, by telephone or on-line, unless another reader has recalled them. Fines for overdue books are charged at the rate of 20p per day for each item or 40p per day for overdue recalled items.

Opening hours (term-time):
9.00 am - 8.00 pm, Monday - Thursday
9.00 am - 4.30 pm, Friday

The library is also open on occasional Saturdays (please ring 0116 251 7368 to confirm).

Computer Suite

The open access computer suite provides registered students with computing facilities including word processing, email and internet access. We hope that students will make the fullest possible use of this valuable learning resource.

Normal opening time for the computer suite:
9.30 am - 8.30 pm, Monday - Thursday
9.30 am - 4.30 pm, Friday

The computer suite will also be open on some Saturdays (10.00 am - 4.00 pm), when the College is open for day schools (please check in advance for these dates).

Parking

The College car park is for the use of staff, tutors and disabled students.

Café

The College has a comfortable common room with meals and bar service from 10.00 am - 2.00 pm and 5.00 - 8.00 pm, Monday to Thursday, and some Fridays, in term-time.

Disabled Access

All levels of Vaughan College are accessible by lift, and parking spaces are available for disabled students. It would be helpful if students could indicate on their enrolment form whether they are a wheelchair user.
