Erika Szyszczak is the Jean Monnet Professor of European Law ad personam, Professor of European Competition and Labour Law and Director of the Centre for European Law and Integration. She delivered her Inaugural Lecture, entitled "Public Services: Competitive Markets", on 29 April 2002. Erika sits on the editorial board of The Modern Law Review, The International Journal of Discrimination and the Law, and European Law Review. She was a member of the Board of the European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) Budapest and its Chair from 2007-2008. From 1996 - 2000 she acted as the legal consultant for Eurodeuce producing the Annual Equal Opportunities Report for the European Commission. In 2000 Erika was invited to attend the Women of the Year, Millennium Celebrations of Women's Work, and in 2001 the Women of the Year Luncheon, in recognition of her outstanding services to higher education.

Research Interests

European Union Law, Governance of the EU, Internal Market Law and the Regulation of State Intervention in the Market ( State Aids, Privatisation and Liberalisation , Control of Monopolies, Procurement, Competition Law).
