Departmental Visits
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Science is distributed across a range of departments within the University and as such it is not currently practical to provide tours of all of our facilities, however, our primary host is the Department of Physics and Astronomy. We are more than happy to provide tours around Physics and Astronomy, and its sister research group the Space Research Centre, that can be tailored to your requirements. A variety of research labs can be visited (subject to availability and student numbers):
-
UKAFF – UK Astrophysical Fluids Facility (supercompters)
-
LUMPS – nanocluster source
-
Nanoparticle Lab
-
AFM/STM – Atomic Force Microscope/Scanning Tunneling Microscope
We strongly advise that a visit to the department is combined with either a lecture or an outreach activity to get the most out of your day!
