Travel to Leicester

Main University Campus

If you are travelling to the main campus please visit our Maps & Directions page, which will provide guidance on how to get to the University.

  • If you are arriving by train the main campus is approximately 15 minutes walk from the station.
  • If you are a blue badge holder, or have any mobility issues please contact Pete on heritagepratice@le.ac.uk and we can arrange a temporary pass.

You can find downloadable pdf maps of campus, and parking locations below.

Please be aware that there is extremely limited parking on the main University site, and as such, we cannot issue parking permits for visits to campus and would advise you to use one of the pay & display car parks located in the city.

Leicester can be extremely busy between 7.30am and 9am, as such please factor in your walking time from the car park to the main campus.

College Court

If you are staying at College Court, or your course takes place there, please use the post code LE2 3TQ. There is ample parking at College Court, so if you wish to park there and leave your bags before heading to the main campus for the course, and returning to check in in the evening please do so. Further details on how to get to College Court can be found in the travel leaflet or on their webpage.

If you have any queries about check in please contact College Court on 0116 224 9669.

Travel to Lincoln

The Heritage Skills Centre is based at Lincoln Castle. You can find comprehensive information on how to get there by visiting the Castle's getting here page.

The postcode for the Castle is LN1 3AA, and it is well signposted on brown signs on all major routes into the city. You can find a number of small car parks close to the castle, but they do have very limited capacity. Their postcodes are:

  • St Paul's Lane - LN1 3AL
  • Castle Hill - LN1 3AA
  • Westgate 1, 2, or 3 - LN1 3BG
  • The Lawn - LN1 3BU.

You can find other, larger car parks across the city. Their postcodes are:

  • Flaxengate - LN2 1JX
  • Langworthgate - LN2 4AW
  • Lucy Tower Street - LN1 1XL (multistorey)
  • Broadgate Multistorey - LN2 5AP
  • Thornbridge - LN5 7HW

Please be advised if you are approaching the castle on foot from the south of the city you will need to walk up Steep Hill, the most accurately named road we have found so far. It is a lovely street to walk up, but the gradient is very steep.

If you are arriving in Lincoln by train it is a 20 minute walk, or 10 minutes in a taxi at a cost of around £4.50.
