Careers FairThere are numerous careers for students who come to university to study for a degree in history, and our history graduates are highly skilled and readily employable. Due to the flexible nature of our degree you will acquire a range of skills, notably communication skills, critical thinking, data analysis, self-reliance and team-working skills, all of which make you particularly attractive to potential employers.

Graduate Destinations

An undergraduate degree in History from the University of Leicester opens a multitude of career pathways, with our recent history graduates going into careers in law, accountancy, TV and radio, journalism, the Civil Service, the police and armed forces, IT, teaching, banking and retail.

Recent data collated by the University indicates that 80% of University of Leicester History graduates (2008/9) went into employment or further study upon completing their undergraduate degree.
