How to Apply
All applications should be made through UCAS. We do not normally interview applicants. Your application will be carefully considered taking into account your educational development and potential as shown by your existing results, your personal statement and, of course, how your teachers assess you as a potential History undergraduate, including your A-level grade predictions (or equivalent).
The School welcomes applications from mature students. We understand that mature students often have different qualifications to recent school leavers, and we consider each case individually based on its own merits.
We also welcome applications from international students. The International Office can provide all the information you need about applying for one of our courses, including English language requirements.
What Happens Next?
When the Undergraduate Admissions Office have received your UCAS form they forward your application to the School, where we aim to make a decision within a month. We do not wait until after the January deadline to process all applications. Formal confirmation of the terms of your offer may take a little longer and will be available on UCAS Track once your form has been processed by the Undergraduate Admissions Office.
All applicants receiving an offer will be invited to visit the School. This gives you a chance to meet staff and current students, look around the University and its residential accommodation, and find out more about what student life is like at Leicester.
Open Days
If you would like to visit the university before making your application you are advised to attend one of the Open or Focus Days. On these days we operate various talks, campus tours and tours of the student accommodation.
