Biography

I am an urban historian and I joined the University of Leicester in 2010. Previously I was a Research Fellow at the University of East London, Giles Worsley Travel Fellow at the British School at Rome, and Research Fellow in Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow. I am an Associate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and have extensive experience of both historical research and contemporary urban policy research in the academic, local government, private and voluntary sectors. I am particularly interested in the ways the urban past informs the future development of the city.

Outside of work I have had a long, but rapidly receding, football career playing for clubs in five different countries and I enjoy urban walks and photography.
