Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Leicester is led by Professor Joseph Dias. 

The division works hand in hand with the University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust in its clinical and research work. The section's main base is at the Leicester General Hospital. It also has a presence at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

As part of its wide-ranging research work, the department hosts the Trent Wales Arthroplasty Audit Group. The division also has an active post-graduate training programme.

As part of its commitment to teaching and learning, the division of Orthopaedic Surgery continues to provide a comprehensive programme of fracture management courses to support the professional development of the orthopaedic surgeon.
