Postgraduate Research Degrees

The Department of Health Sciences offers numerous opportunities for postgraduate research leading to the award of the MD/MPhil/ and PhD degrees both by full time and part-time studies. We also offer an MRes in Applied Health Research and MRes in Research Translation Management. The following links will answer many of your questions. Do not hesitate to get in touch with members of staff individually if you have any questions relating to our expertise or to the field of research that you are interested in pursuing.

We welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates. Please view our Research pages to locate members of staff with interests in your proposed area of research.  Alternatively you may wish to propose your own PhD topic.

In addition to fully funded projects in the department, the University offers several possible ways of funding PhD studies, including fee waivers and scholarships. Full funding may also be available through the University of Leicester Anniversary Scholarship scheme.

Overseas applicants

We strongly encourage applicants from overseas. If you already have a project and funding, then please visit our Research Pages to find staff who can supervise your project. The university also has several possible ways of funding PhD studies, including International Scholarships.
