Creative problem solving

Workshop

Description

Apart from an in-depth knowledge of the subject under study, conducting research effectively in any field also requires a combination of creative and critical thinking skills and where appropriate, the ability to separate them. This workshop will aim to explore the nature of creative thinking and the factors that both nurture and inhibit it. Some 'tools' for nurturing creative thinking in research will be explored and a framework will be described in which the various tools for critical thinking and creativity can be applied in a systematic way.
