What is PROSE?PROSE (Postgraduate Record of Student Experience) is a new online tool to help Postgraduate Researchers record and reflect upon their progress during their time at the University of Leicester. Sign-up and record training
At the beginning of each semester the schedule of training events available during that period will be listed on PROSE. Once in PROSE you will be able to sign-up to any events and workshops that you would like to attend. The number of places available in some training sessions is limited and places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The system will keep a formal record of your attendance and the training that you undertake.
Collaborate with supervisor
On PROSE each student is allocated a private area to record reflections on the progress being made during his/her research studies. In that area the student is able to collaborate with his/her supervisor and to record the outcomes of supervisory meetings. These records will also be accessible by the supervisor so that the student and supervisor can work together to agree the research and training plan and reflect on progress.
Accessing PROSE
PROSE is a BlackBoard-based system.
To access PROSE, you must first log-on to BlackBoard using your cfs username and password. If PROSE does not appear within the My Courses menu when you log onto BlackBoard you will need to Self Enrol.
To Self Enrol
- Log-in to BlackBoard
- Go to the Courses tab
- In the Course Catalogue go to the folder called Student Learning Centre
- On the list is PROSE (Postgraduate Record of Student Experience) Course ID: STCX001.
- Click the drop down arrow under the Course ID and select Enrol
- Return to the Home tab. PROSE will now be listed in the My Course box.
To Activate your PROSE account
When you first enter PROSE you need to Register in order to activate your account. You will be asked to supply a few details about yourself and your supervisor that are necessary to manage your account.
- Select your College from one of the Buttons.
- Complete the Form presented to you.
This process ONLY NEEDS TO BE DONE ONCE. Please do NOT re-register each time you log-on to PROSE.
