Personal and Professional Development for Research Students

As a research student, you can access a wide range of personal and professional development opportunities at the University of Leicester.

In addition to the training programmes offered by your College, further training is available through Researcher Development. The Researcher Development Team provides support, training and advice for all researchers across the university. The service we provide covers a wide breadth of topic areas, including personal effectiveness, research management, team-working, and verbal and written communication skills. You can find more detailed information about the training and workshops for postgraduate researchers here.

Training should only be undertaken following discussion with your supervisors and as part of a carefully considered training plan. Your development may be aided by attending one of the workshops listed below or through taking part in one of the year-round programme of events for research students.
