]]> No publisher mgc5 2013-04-24T10:30:00Z News Item PGR Survey on Joint Internship Programme http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/gradschool/training/news/pgr-survey-on-joint-internship-programme De Montfort University and the University of Leicester are jointly organising a PhD Internship Scheme which offers PhD students the opportunity to gain experience working with a local company or public sector organisation. We would be grateful, therefore, if you could answer a short questionnaire on this topic, which should take no more than 5 minutes of your time. Under the scheme, the student will spend 20 working days with the company over a period of not more than 6 months and will receive expenses of up to £500 to cover travel and related costs. This scheme ran for the first time last year and before repeating in 2013 we would like to canvass your opinion on the benefits and organisation of the scheme so that it best meets your needs.

Elee was awarded the third prize overall for her poster, plus the runner-up prize for the written summary that accompanied it. Participants compete in teams to develop a hypothetical business idea with the help of expert mentors from the biotechnology sector. Workshops are held throughout the UK, feeding into a National Final with a prize of £1000 for the winning team. The University of Leicester will be entering at least two teams to Biotechnology YES 2012. The closing date for entries is May 25th, 2012.
