Winner 2005The 2005 Festival of Postgraduate Research was a great success, showcasing the range and quality of research being carried out at the University.

Fifty students presented their work to a large audience which included many local companies, representatives from other universities and organisations such as UK GRAD.

2005 Festival of Postgraduate Research Winners

  • Master prize - Overall winner (sponsored by UK GRAD): Wing Yan Vivian Ting for her poster 'A Museological Perspective of Viewing Chineseness'.
  • International prize (sponsored by University of Leicester, The International Office): Siminder Kaur for her poster 'Tea as a Breast Cancer Chemopreventitive Agent'.
  • Best poster in the area of Arts or Education (sponsored by University of Leicester, EDSC): Vasiliki Tzibazi for her poster ' A suggestive framework for the development of 'museum-theatre' events for primary school childrent'.
  • Best poster in the area of Science or Engineering (sponsored by Tessella Support Services): Kerry Howard for her poster 'Modelling Marine Gas Hydrate Dissociation and Sediment Stability'.
  • Best poster in the area of Medicine or Biological Science(sponsored by Adamson Jones): Patricia Rentowl with her poster 'Wake up and smell the coffee - or not?'
  • Best poster in the area of Law, Business and Social Science (sponsored by Tangible Results): Mohammed Hoque for his poster 'Synthetic Footwear and the Environment'.
