So what??

GRADschools are experiential learning courses (learning by doing).  The course is designed for research students in their 2nd and 3rd year (or part-time equivalent) and is open to students from any discipline. Typically, participants work within small teams to undertake a range of problem-solving exercises and business/organisational case studies, and to consider and discuss issues relating to their doctoral studies. They are also provided with tools and techniques to assist in their career planning.

The Leicester GRADschool ran from 2nd to 5th November 2009 in the beautiful setting of Scalford Hall (www.scalfordhall.co.uk).

GRADschools are exceptionally highly rated by attendees. See www.vitae.ac.uk for a breakdown of this feedback. In the past, GRADschools have only been available to research council funded students. However, through funding from the University of Leicester we are now able to open up participation in the Leicester GRADschool to all University of Leicester students, FREE of charge!

If you have any further enquires please contact pgevents@le.ac.uk.

Please note that the real cost to the University of Leicester in running a GRADschool is in the region of £1000 per student. This event is offered FREE, yet we require your full commitment to it, as a lot of work and resources go into putting this course together. For these reasons, deposits can only be returned to delegates who actually attend the GRADschool.
