Vitae is the UK organisation championing the personal and professional development of research students and staff in higher education institutions and research institutes.

Funded by the Research Councils, Vitae provides a range of resources and events to help researchers develop and articulate their skills and plan their continuing professional development.

Vitae is also responsible for the development and promotion of the Researcher Development Framework which sets out the knowledge, behaviours and attributes of successful researchers and encourages them to aspire to excellence through achieving higher levels of development.
