This was the second Evening Career Event to focus on the career prospects for PhD students who aspire to an academic career in the current Higher Education environment.

This Evening Career Event focussed on academic career opportunities for PhD graduates from the College of Arts, Humanities & Law and the College of Social Sciences.

Speakers bropught a wide range of experience and insights into life as an academic.  They includea a newly appointed lecturer and two professors with long standing and established academic repouytations.

Whilst the primary focus of the event was on academic careers there was also an opportunity to related research career opportunities.

 This event was made up of three elements. 

  1. Three presentations from professional academics working in the academic sector;
  2. An opportunity for research postgraduates to explore career opportunities in the world of academia, through networking informally with speakers and other attendees;
  3. An opportunity to explore research and other related career options through informal networking at the event.
