Thesis Structure
As well as specific requirements for the thesis format, the University has specific requirements for the way the thesis is ordered.
Title Page
The first page of your thesis should be a title page that includes:
-
full title of the thesis
-
degree for which the thesis is submitted
-
your full name
-
date (month and year) of submission
Please note that the date of submission is the date of your first submission. You should use that same date in both the first and final submissions of your thesis.
An illustration for how your title page should look can be found here.
Thesis Body
The title page should then be followed in this order by:
-
abstract
-
acknowledgements
-
list of contents
-
main body of thesis
-
appendices (if any)
-
references/bibliography
If there are any addenda to the thesis, these should be securely housed in a pocket attached to the back cover of the thesis and individually labelled with your name, the degree for which the thesis is submitted, and the year of submission.
