There are many organisations that offer small amounts, rarely exceeding £500, to students on postgraduate courses. Frequently, these grants are only open to those who match restricted eligibility criteria in terms of where they live, vocational choice, family background, or similar. The following resources may be helful in identifying funding opportunities from Trust and Charities.

The UK Government's Department for Social Change run an online directory including details of nearly 4,200 grant-making trusts providing combined funding of over £3.1 billion a year.

The Grants Register

The Grants Register is an annual publication, containing details of over 4,000 awards from funders in 80 different countries. Reference copies of The Grants Register are available from most public libraries and British Council libraries.
